We’ll be there during the nervous moments before the ceremony, the laughs during portraits, the tears during speeches and the celebrations on the dance floor. We’re there for the moments you’ll remember forever, and plenty of the ones you didn’t even realise happened until you watch your film back.

We're Mitch & Camelia

We're a husband and wife team based on the South Coast of NSW, and for more than 14 years we've had the privilege of filming almost 400 weddings across Wollongong, the Illawarra, Southern Highlands, South Coast and beyond.

Every wedding has been different.

Different people.

Different families.

Different stories.

But one thing has always stayed the same.

We genuinely love people.

We love the excitement before the ceremony, the hugs from grandparents, the mates who somehow always end up with their shirts off on the dance floor, and those quiet little moments when it's just the two of you taking it all in.

Those are the moments that make every wedding unique, and they're the moments we love capturing most.

How It All Started

Mitch's journey behind the camera started long before Mitch Hickman Films existed.

What began as a passion quickly turned into a career, filming weddings throughout the Illawarra before travelling across Australia and overseas, capturing weddings in some truly incredible locations. Every wedding, every couple and every experience helped shape the relaxed documentary style that Mitch Hickman Films is known for today.

Not long after, Camelia joined the business.

While Mitch focuses on capturing every moment throughout your day, Camelia works behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly. From helping couples during the planning process to keeping communication simple and stress free, she's the reason everything feels organised from the moment you enquire right through to receiving your films.

Working together as husband and wife means we're on the same page in everything we do, and we think that makes a huge difference to the experience we create for our couples.

What It's Like Having Us There

One of the biggest compliments we receive isn't about our films.

It's when couples tell us they forgot we were even filming.

That's exactly how we want it to feel.

We're not about constantly posing you, interrupting moments or turning your wedding into a photoshoot.

Instead, we quietly blend into your day, gently guiding you when you need it, stepping back when you don't, and allowing your wedding to unfold naturally.

By the end of the night, most couples tell us it felt less like having videographers there and more like having two extra friends celebrating alongside them.

That's honestly the biggest compliment we could receive.

Outside Of Weddings

 

When we’re not filming weddings, you’ll usually find us spending time with our family, chasing our kids around, heading away camping, exploring somewhere new or enjoying a good coffee together.

Family has always been at the centre of everything we do, which is probably why weddings mean so much to us.

We know how quickly time passes.

We know how much those little moments matter.

And we know that one day, your wedding film won’t just be something you watch.

It’ll become something you share with your children, your family and the people you love most.

That’s a responsibility we’ll never take for granted.
